This is my second telescope, it is a Newton, has a diameter of 150mm and
a focal ratio of 3!
The mirror was polished at the Atelier d`optique de
la Sorbonne.
The focuser is made using a old camera 50mm objective, because I needed
to be very close to the tube, however, using this kind of mecanics give
a nice cabestant, with a non-rotating eyepiece.
The mirror focal ratio is nice for deep-sky, but not every eyepiece works well with it, they must be choiced carrefully.
It is named a "table telescope', guess why? In reality, it is was pushed
on my leg, while I sitted on the floor, the low magnification permit a
nice trip without any other handling.
